Beth Hopkins Thomas is the Executive Director of North Carolina Prisoner Legal Services. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and UNC School of Law, Mrs. Hopkins Thomas started her career as a defense attorney in private practice. She taught classes in Criminal Lawyering Process as well as the Youth Justice Clinic as an adjunct professor at UNC School of Law. Mrs. Hopkins Thomas later served as the Juvenile Chief Prosecutor in the Durham District Attorney’s Office under DA Satana Deberry. She lives in Raleigh with her husband, Wake County Chief Public Defender Deonte’ Thomas, and two children, Desmond and Sydney.
